This study aims to analyze youth perceptions of the agricultural sector and the factors influencing their interest in working in this sector in Waelo Village, Fena Fafan District, South Buru Regency. The research used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach supported by quantitative data from a survey of 30 youth respondents aged 15–30 years. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The results indicate that youth perceptions of agriculture are categorized into positive, negative, and neutral. Some youth perceive agriculture as an important sector with strong economic potential, particularly in plantation commodities such as cocoa, cloves, and nutmeg. However, others consider agriculture to be physically demanding work with unstable income and limited prospects. Youth interest in agriculture is relatively low, as many prefer non-agricultural jobs. Factors influencing these perceptions include economic, socio-cultural, educational, environmental, and policy factors. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase the attractiveness of agriculture through modernization, training, and supportive policies to encourage youth participation
