Author Guidelines
CONSERVARE: Journal of Agricultural Knowledge publishes original, high-quality scholarly articles that advance knowledge and innovation in agricultural sciences. The journal welcomes contributions from researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and graduate students worldwide.
Submitted manuscripts must represent original work that has not been previously published, is not under consideration elsewhere, and has been approved by all contributing authors. Manuscripts are evaluated through a rigorous double-blind peer review process based on originality, scientific merit, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal's scope.
Scope of the Journal
The journal accepts original research articles, review articles, short communications, and case studies in, but not limited to, the following fields:
- Agronomy and Crop Science
- Horticultural Science
- Plant Breeding and Genetics
- Plant Protection and Pest Management
- Soil Science and Plant Nutrition
- Agricultural Biotechnology
- Sustainable Agriculture
- Precision Agriculture and Smart Farming
- Agroecology
- Organic Agriculture
- Agricultural Engineering
- Food Security
- Postharvest Technology
- Agricultural Extension and Rural Development
- Natural Resource Management
- Environmental Sustainability in Agriculture
Manuscripts outside these areas but closely related to agricultural knowledge may also be considered.
Manuscript Preparation
Authors should prepare manuscripts using the official journal template.
The manuscript should generally contain the following sections:
- Title
- Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgements (optional)
- Funding Information (if applicable)
- Conflict of Interest Statement
- Data Availability Statement
- References
Title
The title should:
- be concise and informative;
- accurately reflect the content of the study;
- avoid abbreviations whenever possible;
- preferably contain no more than 20 words.
Authors and Affiliations
Provide:
- Full name of each author;
- Institutional affiliation;
- City and country;
- ORCID iD (recommended);
- Email address of the corresponding author.
Authorship should reflect substantial intellectual contributions to the research.
Abstract
The abstract should:
- consist of 200–250 words;
- summarize the objectives, methods, principal findings, and conclusions;
- be written as a single paragraph;
- contain no references or undefined abbreviations.
Keywords
Provide 3–6 keywords arranged alphabetically.
Keywords should not duplicate words already appearing in the title.
Introduction
The introduction should clearly explain:
- research background;
- current state of knowledge;
- research gap;
- objectives;
- significance of the study.
A comprehensive literature review should support the research rationale.
Materials and Methods
This section should provide sufficient detail to allow the study to be replicated.
Authors should clearly describe:
- study area;
- research materials;
- experimental design;
- sampling procedures;
- analytical methods;
- statistical analysis;
- software used.
Research involving humans, animals, or protected biological resources must include statements regarding ethical approval and relevant permits where applicable.
Results
Results should be presented logically using text, tables, and figures without unnecessary duplication.
Statistical analyses should be reported clearly.
Discussion
The discussion should:
- interpret the findings;
- compare results with previous studies;
- explain scientific implications;
- identify limitations where appropriate;
- highlight contributions to agricultural knowledge.
Conclusion
The conclusion should directly answer the research objectives and emphasize the scientific significance and practical implications of the findings.
Recommendations for future research may also be included.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should:
- be cited sequentially in the text;
- include informative captions;
- be of publication quality;
- avoid duplication of information.
Figures should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
Units and Scientific Names
Authors should:
- use the International System of Units (SI);
- italicize scientific names;
- define abbreviations at first mention.
References
References should:
- follow the APA 7th Edition citation style;
- include DOI whenever available;
- consist primarily of peer-reviewed journal articles;
- preferably include literature published within the last ten years.
Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
Research Ethics
Submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal's Publication Ethics.
Scientific misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, image manipulation, duplicate publication, and inappropriate authorship, is strictly prohibited.
Where applicable, authors must provide evidence of ethical approval and informed consent.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools
Authors may use artificial intelligence tools only to improve language, grammar, formatting, or readability.
AI tools must not generate scientific findings, interpret research results without human verification, or be listed as authors.
Any substantial use of AI-assisted tools must be disclosed in the manuscript in accordance with the journal's AI Policy.
Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts undergo similarity checking using plagiarism detection software before peer review.
Manuscripts containing unacceptable similarity or evidence of academic misconduct may be rejected without external review.
Data Availability
Authors are encouraged to make research data available whenever possible.
The manuscript should include a Data Availability Statement indicating whether supporting datasets are publicly accessible or available upon reasonable request.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the research.
If no conflicts exist, authors should state:
The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.
Funding Statement
Authors should disclose all financial support received for conducting the research.
If no external funding was received, authors may state:
This research received no external funding.
Submission Process
All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Online Journal System (OJS).
Submissions by email will not be considered.
Authors should ensure that:
- the manuscript follows the journal template;
- references are complete and correctly formatted;
- all required metadata are entered into the submission system;
- supplementary files are uploaded where necessary.
Peer Review
Every submission undergoes an initial editorial assessment followed by a double-blind peer review conducted by at least two independent reviewers.
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision after considering reviewers' recommendations.
Copyright and License
Authors retain copyright of their published work.
Accepted articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, permitting unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
