Plagiarism Policy

RUMPHII: Biological Science Journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must represent original work and must not contain plagiarism, duplicate publication, or any other form of unethical publication practice. The journal follows the ethical principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling suspected cases of plagiarism and research misconduct.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process. The Editorial Office evaluates the similarity report to distinguish acceptable overlaps, such as properly cited quotations, references, standard methodological descriptions, and commonly used scientific terminology, from inappropriate textual similarity that may constitute plagiarism.

Authors are expected to properly acknowledge and cite all sources of information, including published literature, unpublished data, figures, tables, and ideas derived from the work of others. Any use of copyrighted material must be accompanied by appropriate permission where required. Self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, redundant publication, data fabrication, citation manipulation, and unattributed reuse of previously published material are considered violations of the journal's publication ethics.

If substantial plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are identified during the editorial review or peer-review process, the manuscript may be rejected immediately. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to publish corrections, issue expressions of concern, retract the article, notify the authors' institutions or funding agencies when appropriate, and take other actions in accordance with COPE guidelines to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

As a general guideline, RUMPHII: Biological Science Journal expects submitted manuscripts to have a similarity index of no more than 25%, excluding references, quotations, and appropriately cited materials. However, editorial decisions are based not solely on the overall similarity percentage but also on the nature, source, and context of the matching text. Even manuscripts with a low similarity score may be rejected if evidence of plagiarism or unethical text reuse is identified.

By submitting a manuscript to RUMPHII: Biological Science Journal, authors affirm that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, is not under consideration by another journal, and complies with the journal's ethical standards regarding plagiarism and responsible scholarly publishing.
