Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to RUMPHII: Biological Science Journal undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and scientifically sound research. In the double-blind review system, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to promote fairness, objectivity, and impartial evaluation.

Upon submission, each manuscript is first assessed by the Editorial Office to verify its completeness, compliance with the journal's formatting requirements, ethical standards, and relevance to the journal's scope. The Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Handling Editor then conducts an initial evaluation of the manuscript's scientific quality and originality. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's standards or fall outside its scope may be rejected without external review.

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, scientific significance, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, quality of data analysis, validity of the conclusions, ethical compliance, and relevance to the field of biological sciences. Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommend one of the following editorial decisions:

  • Accept without revision;
  • Accept with minor revisions;
  • Reconsider after major revisions; or
  • Reject.

Authors receiving revision requests are expected to submit a revised manuscript accompanied by a detailed response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' recommendations, the scientific quality of the manuscript, and the journal's editorial standards. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to make the final decision in cases of conflicting reviewer recommendations.

Throughout the review process, all participants are expected to maintain confidentiality, declare any potential conflicts of interest, and adhere to the ethical principles of scholarly publishing. RUMPHII: Biological Science Journal follows the publication ethics and best practice guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure integrity, transparency, and fairness in scientific publishing.
